Q:
Can a piercing scar?
A: This is a good reason to get pierced by an experienced informed
professional. With a healthy piercing, scarring is unlikely at best. If however,
the piercing gets played with, infected, forced flat, torn or abused with harsh
chemicals like peroxide, alcohol etc, chances of scarring are greater. If a
piercing begins growing out, have your professional piercer remove the jewelry
before it gets all the way to the surface to avoid scarring. Massaging the area
with pure cocoa butter or vitamin E oil a few times a day will minimize leftover
tough tissue and other marks.
